Southwest
This series is a selection of aerial photography taken from two different aircraft during at trip out west in April, 2006 and the return. The first 10 images from left to right below are from high altitude images in a commercial jet from a passenger seat forward of the starboard engine normally above FL180 between over New Mexico to Las Vegas, Nevada.. The remaining 14 images is the lower altitude work begining the next day from a single engine piston aircraft, a Cessna 140, and seldom above 1000 feet from the ground. This flight was from near Santa Barbara, California to Corpus Christi, Texas on the Gulf of Mexico. These 14 represent only part of the trip over the Mohave Desert in California to east of El Paso. Texas. This part of the trip took 4 days flying only in the morning to avoid low altiude turbulence, gusty surface winds and thunderstorms typical of afternoon flying in this part of the country and this time of the year.
