The road to El Dorado December, 2008
These roadshots were developed from a sequence of photographs taken while driving to El Dorado, Arkansas on December 21, 2008 and a few shots from the return the next day, the 22nd, to Louisville, Kentucky. As elsewhere on this website the images appear below following the sequence as the photos were taken: the first shot then the next and so on to the end beginning from left to right, row by row. The photography began shorly after sunrise at Louisville on Interstate 65 South. At Elizabethtown, Kentucky, we picked up the Western Kentucky Parkway and headed southwest toward the Mississippi crossing the mighty river near Dyersburg, Tennessee in the early afternoon. Leaving behind the rolling landscape of Kentucky we were now in delta country, and the "Grand Prairie" of East Arkansas with it's vast cotton and rice fields, now wet from winter rains. It was dark reaching Little Rock. The next day, another short round of roadshots took place between Union City, Tennessee and Fulton, Kentucky for about and hour and ahalf in mid afternoon then ran out of "film." You will find these photos in the last folder below, "Return to Lousiville December 22 - afternoon." The Nikon D200 was used, no filter, 18-200mm lens, manual focus.
